Here are my words of the week for the week of July 27. The flow chart is something I NEEDED to see.
10 TikTok Fashion Accounts I Will Never Unfollow
Like many others, I have spent an embarrassing amount of time on TikTok since we began quarantine in March. I love the idea that everyoneโs for you page is tailored to their liking as it works similarly to a live Instagram explore page. Very much like my explore page, most of the TikToks that come up are retail related. Whether that be a styling video, a haul or even a small business, fashion TikToks are what I love to consume and what many others love as well. Here are my top twelve fashion-related accounts I think you should follow right now.

@issymayes
for comfy streetwear

@camilacoelho
also has a bomb Revolve collection

@k2sneaks
for the sneaker heads

@alysilverio
for a little bit of everything

@inthesejeans
the queen of minimalistic chic

@wisdm8
insane menโs fashion (Vogue thinks so too)

@lilysteigleman
creator of the infamous One Twelves

@delaneychilds
you know her from YouTube and Instagram

@briknopf
my ultimate style Inso

@revolve
for obvious reasons. And they are always doing giveaways
WOTW: July 20
Here are my words of the week for the week of July 20. Personal favorite and a much needed reminder; grind and unwind.
Digital Content You Need to Consume
Living in a digital age can be challenging. Media such as podcast, social platforms, videos, etc. are produced and consumed everyday by billions of people. I gravitate towards content in all different categories. Yes, I love fashion and lifestyle but I also have other interest that range from the music industry to health and wellness. And I love them all. Here is my favorite content right now that you should consume.

Kenzie Burke Health
When I first had to go gluten and dairy free a year ago, I had absolutely no idea where to begin or where to start. I had seen Kenzie on Instagram and saw her twenty one day guide to all things food, fitness and a sound mind. I love everything in that guide and still reference it to this day. Since then, Kenzie has made more recipes, blog post, and has just recently started a podcast titled “Food, Sex & Money“, which discusses how these things drive humans and what we are without them. Her platforms are very inspiring, refreshing and something I recommend anyone to read if you are interested in bettering yourself for you.

kaysthetics3000
@kaysthetics3000 is an Instagram account I recently came across . The messages that are included in this account is ultimately what inspired me to start the Words of the Week section on my blog. Everyone needs to be reminded and refreshed of the good things in life, especially with all of the negativity that consumes our world. Whether you like her content for aesthetics or take each word mentioned throughout your day, I highly recommend the follow.

Five Minute Journal App
The amount of times that I have tried to commit to writing in a journal every night is insane. When I journal I always love how I feel afterwards, but it always seems like an inconvenience having to carry around a journal with me. I have found two solutions to this problem. 1) creating this website and 2) the five minute journal app. I have seen the physical hardcover journal and think it is a great idea, but the app is just as convenient and less expensive. The five minute journal essentially is a “toothbrush for your mind”. Five minutes for twice a day. Now that’s a commitment I can make.

Trader Joe’s Food Reviews on TikTok
Like everyone else and their mother, yes, I am obsessed with Trader Joe’s. It is relatively inexpensive and has great gluten and dairy free options so I am a regular. Even though I am a regular I never know when they have new products, or when they are getting ready to discontinue seasonal items. THIS ACCOUNT IS THE FIX. They post meals, products updates, drink ideas, etc. I always look at this account before I go grocery shopping to see what to pick up and it has never let me down.

How I Built This with Guy Raz
Yet another podcast, what a surprise. How I Built This with Guy Raz has been a frequent listen lately and is great for anyone interested in business and entrepreneurship. Raz brings on guest speakers of highly successful companies and they discuss their startup and how they got to where they are today. Companies like Supergoop!, Tatcha and Outdoor Voices have been my favorite listens so far but I have many more in my queue.
Speaking of digital content, you should subscribe to email notifications for more post and portfolio updates โบ

Words of the Week
As much as I love a good OOTD or OOTW, I’d rather start off the week on a good note with some words of the week. These reminders will help myself (& hopefully you) stay centered and motivated as I move through the week.
10 Bike Shorts That Aren’t Sold Out
Yes you can work out in them & yes, these are actually in stock.
I hopped on the biker short trend a while ago and now they are everywhere; for a good reason. They double as a workout staple and lounging necessity which is perfect for quarantine. Since they have risen so much in popularity, they seem to always be out of stock. Everywhere. I have researched so much about where to purchase the best available biker shorts so hopefully you can score a pair at the places below:

Nike One Women’s 7″ Shorts
This version of Nike’s bike shorts is made with their “sweat wicking fabric”. Seven inches is the perfect length in my opinion, especially for when you’re wearing super oversized t-shirts.
BONUS: Get 25% off site wide on Nike with code MOVE25

Alo High-Waist Biker Short
Yes, these look the same as the Nike one’s but they have a glossy coat over them which I am obsessed with. If you read my Vogue 73 Questions you know I love my leather leggings, but since it is definitely too hot for those right now this is the perfect alternative.

Morgan Stewart Sport Biker Short
I have talked about this brand before, so I couldn’t leave these out. This short comes in the colors of Buttercream, Ballet and Mustard.
BONUS: Get 15% off your first order

Free People Hang Time Short
Retailing for $48, this short is fairly affordable for a good pair of “athletic material” of bike shorts on the market. There is a 4″ inseam which is great if you are just starting out to wear bike shorts, as longer pairs are something I felt like I had to work towards.

Year of Ours V Waist Biker Short
I have recently seen these on Carbon 38 and I cannot get over the cut of them! These would be so flattering on and also have a matching top that can be purchased separately. They have a fairly high price point, but for a good reason.
BONUS: 10% off your first order from Carbon 38

Koral Slalom High Rise Reptile Shorts
Koral is an activewear brand that is commonly known for their high shine biker shorts. This is a take on their original style just in a neutral reptile print. I need these because I need to stop wearing just black and white biker shorts hahaha.
BONUS: 15% off your first order

Onzie High Rise Biker Short
I keep coming across these on Revolve and can’t get over the different prints they have available. While black is a staple, check out their printed shorts in the same style.
BONUS: 15% off your first order

Daily Paper Clothing Rebike Shorts
I saw these and immediately though “tailgates” lol. This and the matching crop top are perfect for Michigan State game days and I may just have to purchase, despite the fact we won’t be able to tailgate. A game day is a game day, go green always.

Adanola Ultimate Bike Shorts
These shorts are worn by my favorite @tialineker and I am way too obsessed with the color. They just restocked and are certain to sell out soon!
BONUS: 10% off your first order

Aritzia TNA Atmosphere Short
Ok I could not leave these out. Yes, they are commonly very back ordered but they are hands down my favorite bike short. The classic black short is not back ordered but it one hundred percent will be soon so stock up ASAP!
June Favorites
Every month I recap things I have been loving from food to podcast. All links will be down below, and similar items will be linked if the original is not available.
02
Drunk Elephant Sunshine Serum
I have a difficult time tanning my face, so this serum adds a little life back into me each morning. Highly recommend mixing this with Drunk Elephant’s Vitamin C Serum.

03
Rectangle Sunglasses
Easy, super wearable shape to wear on your face or head. I have a Quay pair that is no longer sold, but these Free People sunglasses are very comparable.

04
Trader Joe’s Individual Matcha Packets
I don’t really drink coffee due to its high acid content, so tea is a much better option. These matcha packets are from Trader Joe’s but can also be purchased on Amazon.

05
ILYSM Podcast with Kenzie Elizabeth
This podcast has been what I listen to while working every day! Kenzie is amazing, the guest hosts are so inspiring, really good entrepreneur/ motivational/ self love podcast. Listen to it here.

06
Daily Harvest Ice Cream
Being dairy free and gluten free can suck so badly sometimes, but THIS makes it not so bad. I have been purchasing Daily Harvest since January, and they just came out with ice cream and I am obsessed with it. All clean ingredients and taste just like the real stuff.

07
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss
All I have to say is I put this on before I went to bed, woke up in the morning and it was still on. Buy it off here.

08
Claw Clips
These have been a go to because they are so easy on my hair, and don’t pull like a ponytail holder does. Shop here on Amazon.

Sustainable Fashion: What to Know
As a college student I often look for the the cheaper alternative when it comes to purchasing clothes. I used to turn to brand that are know as part of the “fast-fashion” industry due to their convenient price and accessibility. These clothing items always seem to do the job but in a few months they are torn, worn or ready to be given away. This made me want to steer clear of these companies, as I knew there was a better alternative for the items I was purchasing. This is where researching and investing in sustainable pieces became part of my purchasing routine.
I have been conscious about what my clothes materials and ecological footprint they leave on the environment for about a year now. I have done so much research about sustainable materials, environmentally friendly brands, etc. and have found that most of my favorite places to get clothes from already have products that fit this sustainable mold. I have listed my favorite places/ items to shop down below, as well as brands I would like to try. If you would like to read more about sustainable fashion, you can click here.
ASOS

ASOS is a company that many people are familiar with, but falls under the category of people thinking it is another “fast fashion” website. I have many clothes, swimsuits and accessories from here that are all made from sustainable or recycled materials! ASOS actually has a feature where you can sort by responsibility, so you can only see items that are eco friendly. I have linked some of my favorite items in the list below:
Morgan Stewart Sport

I cannot say enough good things about this line. For starters, I love Morgan Stewart as a person. Her whole lounge and active wear line is chic and high quality. All cotton-based products such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, polos, etc. are 100% organic cotton, which is very biodegradable. While stretchy materials such as sports bras and leggings are made of nylons, the quality makes up for having to buy bras again and again. Along with majority eco-friendly materials, products are made in the USA. My all-time favorite products from here are:
Agolde

Agolde, the sister company of Citizens of Humanity, is another high quality brand based out of LA. This brand of jeans has grown immensely in popularity in 2019 and 2020 but all for good reasons. They are dedicated to eco-friendly materials, as their denim is made from 100% non GMO organic cotton. While Agolde is priced decently high, it is for very valid reasons in materials and production.
Curtsy

When talking about sustainable fashion, it is almost impossible to forget to mention Curtsy . Curtsy is a stoppable resell app targeted towards girls who are in high school, college, the workforce; a go-getter individual. I have worked for Curtsy at Michigan State and have fallen in love with the app. I HIGHLY recommend buying/ selling clothes on Curtsy! (If you want $10 off your first purchase use the code GGUC โบ)
Sporty & Rich

Sporty & Rich is a brand that I just purchased something from. I have heard so many great things about the brand and the founder Emily Oberg which is what drew me to the company. The name Sporty & Rich is not meant to be taken literally but that if you live an active lifestyle, you will get the most out of your life; which is something I heavily believe and live by. All products are environmentally friendly and made in the USA.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

- Girlfriend Collective for activewear
- Outdoor Voices for activewear

- Purchase/ resell streetwear clothing on Grailed
- H&M Conscious for a cheap sustainable line
- TheRealReal for preloved designer
